Labor Day

Labor Day, observed on the first Monday in September, is a federal holiday in the United States that honors the contributions and achievements of American workers. Established in the late 19th century during the labor movement, the holiday was intended to recognize the vital role that labor unions and workers have played in shaping the nation's economy and society.

Originally conceived as a way to celebrate labor's role in advancing workers' rights and improving working conditions, Labor Day also marks the unofficial end of summer in the U.S. It is often associated with barbecues, parades, and various public festivities. Many people use the long weekend as an opportunity for a final summer getaway or to spend time with family and friends.

In addition to its cultural significance, Labor Day serves as a reminder of the ongoing importance of labor rights and the need for continued advocacy and reform to ensure fair treatment for workers across various industries.

Prosecutors claimed that Hana received help from the senator in maintaining a monopoly on halal meat.

Additionally, Menendez was accused of accepting a $60,000 Mercedes-Benz convertible in exchange for intervening in a case handled by the New Jersey Attorney General's Office.

According to prosecutors, in the spring of 2019, Jose Uribe, another New Jersey businessman who has pleaded guilty in the case, gave Nadine $15,000 in cash.
