Interview with Cai Yiming, founder of CREATE WORLD: Charting the course for next-gen 3D content with AI

CREATE WORLD’s AI-driven engine is revolutionizing 3D content creation, providing cost-effective and efficient solutions across various industries. The platform caters to a diverse audience, including professionals in smart cities, interior design, construction, gaming, and entertainment. With a mission to democratize 3D content creation, CREATE WORLD is set to launch its product online and in the cloud.

In this exclusive interview with BTW Media, Cai Yiming, the founder of CREATE WORLD, discusses the company’s innovative approach to transforming 3D content creation through advanced AI technology. By simplifying the generation of intricate 3D digital scenes, CREATE WORLD aims to make this technology accessible to users of all skill levels, from professionals to hobbyists.

Q1: Can you provide a brief overview of CREATE WORLD’s establishment and core services?

A: CREATE WORLD is an early-stage startup founded in May 2024. Our primary product is an AI-driven engine for generating three-dimensional digital worlds, which can be utilized in fields such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), the Metaverse, and industrial applications like smart cities and interior design. Essentially, we provide a platform for creating 3D scenes across various sectors.

Q:2: Who are your target markets and customer groups, and how do you promote your offerings?

A:Our target audience is broad, as we are developing a universal 3D generation engine. We envision a future where anyone can create scene-level 3D content as easily as composing text or taking photographs. While we aim for universal applicability, we are currently focusing on industries such as construction, smart cities, gaming, and entertainment. This approach allows us to complete tasks more efficiently and cost-effectively, enabling users to create their own 3D worlds.

Q:3: What competitive advantages does CREATE WORLD have over existing services?

A: Many companies providing scene-level modeling services rely on professional modellers using established software, resulting in high costs and lengthy processes. In contrast, our advantage lies in the fact that approximately 95% of the scene generation is powered by AI, allowing us to deliver results more rapidly and at a lower cost. This capability also supports quick 3D generation for social media.

Q:4: What technical innovations has CREATE WORLD achieved?

A:One of our key innovations is single-view 3D scene generation. We can transform a single-angle image—such as a casual photograph taken with a smartphone—into a fully realized three-dimensional digital representation. This output is in a standard format compatible with most software, and it can be further rendered into videos or images, enhancing user engagement and creativity.

Q:5: What are your short-term and long-term goals?

A: In the short term, we aim for steady growth as a young startup. Our long-term vision is to create a technological platform for the next era of digital worlds. We strive to lower the cost of 3D creation to the level of text and images, encouraging widespread participation in this industry. We are committed to establishing an ecosystem around 3D content creation, which remains our primary objective.

Q:6: What opportunities and challenges do you see for startups in the current market?

A: The challenges are considerable, particularly regarding financing, which has become more difficult. This may slow the pace of development for many startups. For CREATE WORLD, the challenge lies in effectively merging our R&D efforts with our business model. However, the rise of generative AI presents numerous opportunities, as established companies may be slower to adopt disruptive technologies, allowing startups like ours to explore innovative ventures.

Q7: As a relatively new startup founder, what experiences or advice would you share with aspiring entrepreneurs entering this industry?

A: While I’m still in the early stages of my own journey, I’ve gained valuable insights. One crucial skill for any entrepreneur, regardless of their background, is the ability to learn quickly. This realization has been significant for me over the past few months. Although I previously worked in research and believed I was a fast learner, I’ve discovered that entrepreneurship demands an even quicker pace of learning. It’s vital to engage with a wide range of content in a limited time and translate that knowledge into actionable insights for your business. Therefore, I believe that adaptability and a strong capacity for learning are essential for success in the entrepreneurial landscape.
